Catherine Strynckx

Catherine Strynckx, a highly accomplished French cellist, has pursued an impressive musical journey with diverse influences and achievements. Her extensive education took her to prominent musical hubs like Paris, Prague, Basel, and the Menuhin Academy in Switzerland. Along the way, she had the privilege of learning from renowned musicians such as G. Kurtag, Y. Menuhin, and N. Magaloff.

Strynckx’s career has been marked by notable orchestral roles, including serving as the Principal cellist of the Camerata Lysy and the “Orquestre des Pays de Savoie.” She has also been a valuable member of the Porto National Orchestra. Her chamber music ensembles have achieved significant recognition, winning First Prize at international competitions in Italy and earning recognition in Florence.

A prolific performer, Strynckx’s repertoire spans from baroque to contemporary compositions.
