Ivan Moody

Ivan Moody studied at the Universities of London, Joensuu and York. His music has been performed and broadcast all over the world by renowned performers including Paul Barnes, the BBC Singers, Cappella Romana, the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, the Goeyvaerts Trio, the Hilliard Ensemble, the Norwegian Soloists Choir, Artur Pizarro, Singer Pur, Raphael Wallfisch and the Tallis Scholars. His largest works to date include Passion and Resurrection, the Akathistos Hymn, The Dormition of the Virgin and Qohelet. As a conductor he was worked with choirs and choral ensembles all over Europe and in the USA, concentrating particularly on contemporary sacred music and repertoire from the Balkans. As a musicologist, he has published widely on the music of the Balkans and the Iberian Peninsula, and Orthodox sacred music, and is a research fellow at CESEM – Universidade Nova, Lisbon.
